On Wednesday evening at Chapin’s Crooked Creek Park, both Lexington Varsity teams raced to team wins. The Lexington Lady Wildcats ran away from a deep and talented field to win the Lake Murray Invitational.  Senior Sarae Rufener was 1st in a field of 162 competitors with a time of 19:04.  Eighth grader Lydia Metz took 3rd place in 19:19.  Lexington easily outdistanced the second place team, Riverside, by 58 points. Lexington Boy’s and Girl’s Cross Country teams qualified for the 5A State Championship races to be held on Saturday at the Springdale Racecourse in Camden.  Seven teams each from the Upstate and Mid State and 6 teams from the Lower State punched their tickets by placing in their respective qualifiers.  The 5A races are scheduled

Both the Boy’s and Girl’s Cross Country teams ran to Region championships on Tuesday evening.  For the boys, it was the twelfth consecutive title.  The girls were winners for the first time since 2012.  Both teams will compete in the State Qualifier race in Camden on November 9.
