Golfers Finish 4th in Red Raider Invitational

by Coach Brandon Smith On Monday February 25th, the Boys Golf team started their season in the Red Raider Invitational at Furman Golf Club.  The Boys played well and finished 4th in a very strong field of 19 teams.  It was a 27 hole tournament and the team shot 316-146 for a total of 462. 

Golf Tryouts Scheduled For January 28

Boys Varsity and JV Golf tryouts will begin on January 28th at 4:00 at the Country Club of Lexington.  All prospective golfers need to contact Coach Smith at cbsmith@lexington1.net to get all the necessary information to try out by Friday Jan 18th.

Top 5 Finish!

Wildcat Golf completed play with a 5th place finish at the 5A State Championship match Monday and Tuesday at the Country Club of South Carolina.  Gaffney (549, -27) finished atop the leaderboard to capture the title.  The Indians’ Zack Gordon was medalist. Big Monday For Wildcat Sports!

Monday May 7th will be a busy day for Wildcat sports with 5 varsity teams facing critical competitions.  Four will play on the LHS campus.  Come join us as the Cats complete highly successful spring sports seasons. 5th Consecutive Region Championship!

For the 5th consecutive season, the Wildcat Boys are Region Champions.  They defeated runner-up Blythewood by 20 strokes.  Lexington’s Mavrick Mullinax was the tournament medalist, shooting a +7 151 over the two rounds at Leesville’s Ponderosa Golf Club.  Next up is the Lower State Championship scheduled for Monday, May 7th. The Wildcat Varsity Boys Golf Team played in the Bengal Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, March 12 and 13th, at Columbia Country Club.
