Ava Fowler: All-State XC Runner!

On November 4th at the 5A Cross Country State Championship race, the Lexington boys finished 5th while the girls ended up in 13th. Lexington continued their impressive run through the 2017 season as they captured the Region 5-5A championship Thursday afternoon at Sandhills.  The Cats were led by 8th grader Zander Jeffcoat who posted a 16:27.  Up next is the Mid State Qualifier on October 28 and the State Championship meet on November 4. XC Teams Sweep!

On Wednesday afternoon, the Wildcat Boy’s and Girl’s Cross Country teams raced at Crooked Creek Park in Chapin and both emerged with dominating victories.  The teams will compete again at the 5A Mid State Qualifier on October 28 at the Sandhills Research Park.  The Wildcats will hope to advance to the 5A State Championship races

The Lexington Boy’s Cross Country team traveled to Mullett Hall on John’s Island to defend their Low Country Invitational title.  They entered as the 2nd ranked team in the state and had an opportunity to compete against the top ranked Riverside Warriors.  The meet featured 46 teams and 371 runners.  In the end the Cats’

Boys Win 10th Straight County XC Title! Girls 2nd!

On Wednesday evening at Lexington, the Wildcat boys captured their 10th consecutive county championship.  Down the stretch, both William Johnson and Thomas Sutcliffe sprinted by Chapin’s Jaden Kingsley to secure the Cat win.  Chapin finished second in the field that also included River Bluff, Dutch Fork, Pelion, White Knoll, Gray Collegiate, and Brookland-Cayce. Boys Are Region Champs! Girls 2nd!

The Region 5-5A Cross Country championship was contested Wednesday evening at Lexington High School.  Senior Dan Bell paced the field in the boy’s varsity race with a finishing time of 16:28.  Lexington won the Region championship, easily besting the 2nd place Spring Valley Vikings. In the Girl’s race, River Bluff’s Riley Stewart crossed the line 1st
