In this season’s earlier meeting, Lexington let a 4th quarter lead slip away as they dropped the Region opener by a single point. This time they hung on and registered their 4th straight and 6th win in the last 7 games. The Lady Wildcats now stand at 12-8 and maintain the top spot in Region 5 with a mark of 4-1.

Sophomore Alexis Sexton scored a team-high 15 points. Early in the 3rd quarter, Sexton’s three-pointer propelled past the 500-point plateau for her career.

Freshman Lindsay Garner was strong again on the boards and accounted for 8 points. Mallory Nichols, Vanessa Austin, and Jenna Yanity each added 5. Yanity was 5 of 6 from the free throw line, 4 of 4 important makes in the 4th quarter.

Lexington will look to maintain their Region lead when they host Dutch Fork on Friday evening, February 7 at 6:00 PM. Earlier this season the Lady Cats handled the Lady Foxes by 11 points.
