Golfers Qualify For State Final Tournament

On Monday at Westcott Plantation in Summerville, Lexington golfers were part of a 16-team field competing for the Lower State title and 8 tickets to the State Championship Tournament.  The Wildcats finished 6th and secured a spot in the finale to be held next Monday and Tuesday, May 16 and 17 at Furman University. On Saturday, Lexington Boys and Girls Track and Field athletes participated in the 4A State Qualifier at Spring Valley High School.  The top 8 performers in each event will advance to compete next Saturday at the State Meet, also at Spring Valley. The Wildcat Girl’s Soccer program and fans had been looking ahead to a matchup with Wando after a heartbreaking playoff loss last season.  In front of a large crowd Friday evening at Wildcat Stadium they finally got the opportunity…and took advantage of it, eliminating the Warriors 3-1 and moving on to the Lower State Finals.
