Multiple Teams · Girls and Boys Race Past Talented Fields to XC Wins!


On Wednesday evening at Chapin’s Crooked Creek Park, both Lexington Varsity teams raced to team wins.

In the girl’s varsity competition, the Cats were led by 8th graders Lydia Metz and Laurel Walls who finished 3rd and 4th overall in a field of 165 runners from 11 teams.  They outpaced 2nd place Chapin by 27 points.

Lexington junior Zander Jeffcoat was the overall winner in the boy’s race.  Teammates Owen Harries and Grant Goldsmith finished 2nd and 3rd overall of the 227 finishers.  The Wildcats defeated a strong Heathwood Hall squad by 13 points.

Next up for both teams is the Region 5 Championship races at Lexington next Wednesday the 21st.
