This Saturday, the Lexington Showcase will feature top basketball talent from 8 teams beginning with the first of 4 games at 2:00. Included in the event are:
AC Flora: The Falcons recently won the American Bracket of the Cayce Roundball Classic. They are led by 6’11” South Carolina Gamecock commit, Patrick Iriel and junior Robert McCray.
Dutch Fork: The Foxes have been ranked as high as 2nd in SC 5A and are the favorites to win Region 5. They are coached by Lexington Hall of Famer, Bret Jones.
Cross Creek: From Augusta, Georgia, the Razorbacks are off to a 12-3 start this season. Their lineup includes 6’6″ Presbyterian signee, Kobe Stewart.
Keenan: Last season, head coach Zach Norris guided his Raiders to a state championship. They are led by Raekwon Horton, on of the top unsigned players in the state.
Byrnes Boys and Girls: Both Rebel teams, coached by husband and wife duo Layne and Missy Fowler, will compete in the showcase. The boys and girls are both off to winning seasons.
Lexington Boys and Girls: Lexington teams both reach the Lower State Finals in the 2018-19 seasons. This year the ladies’ lineup feature some new faces such as sophomores Amaya Johnson and Vanessa Austin, and freshman Lindsay Garner with sophomore Alexis Sexton and senior Mallory Nichols returning. New to the boy’s roster are 8th grader and leading scorer Cam Scott, sophomore Amari Davis, and senior rebounder and scorer Adin Daniels. They join returners seniors Dylan Rivers and Alex Reed as well as junior Keldric Bouknight. Lexington boys (10-5) have just won the Modie Risher Holiday Classic in Charleston, outpacing a tournament field of 8 teams.
