Boys Varsity Basketball · Jackets Edge Cats, 53-48. LISTEN to Coach Pope’s Comments

On Friday evening, Lexington proved to be a tough challenge for a good Irmo Yellowjacket team.  The Cats scratched their way to an early lead and extended it to an 11-point margin at the half.  But a big 3rd quarter by the Jackets turned out to be the difference in a 53-48 final.

CJ Washington led Irmo scorers with 14 points.  Eighth-grader Cam Scott was the top scorer for the Wildcats with 13.  Senior Adin Daniels added 12 while Keldric Bouknight chipped in 9.

With the loss, Lexington is now 4-2.  They will host the Queensland Boomerangs of Australia on Saturday at 1:00.  Next week they travel to Aiken on Tuesday for a matchup with the Hornets then will host Brookland-Cayce on Friday evening.
