LHS Varsity Swim had a fun night with fierce competition and top-notch sportsmanship, facing off against friends and rivals, River Bluff High School. The last home meet of the season and Senior Night, the Wildcat Swim Teams put in everything they had!
The Meet was close all the way to the end, with the scores for both Boys and Girls being within 2 points or tied until the very end! Lexington Boys beat River Bluff 86 to 84! Lexington Girls lost by 10 points, final score 90 to 80.
Maggie Head took First Place in the 200 Meter Freestyle, finishing at 2:23.09 and Senior JJ Hardy also captured First in the Boys 200 Meter Freestyle finishing at 2:04.68.
Grace Kolb took First place in the Girls 50 Meter Freestyle with a time of 29.62! Grace Kolb also finished First in the Girls 100 Meter Freestyle finishing at 1:05.82! Maggie Head finished Second in the 100 Freestyle at 1:06.60 and Vivian Hall finished Third at 1:10.30 for much needed points!
Elijah Coker finished Second in the 50 Meter Freestyle with a time of 26.46!
Freshman Halie Stoertz finished Second in the Girls 100 Meter Butterfly with a fast 1:14.29 – faster than a 5A Automatic time – securing a spot on the State Team!
Senior JJ Hardy finished First in the Boys 100 Meter Butterfly at 1:01.25!
Senior Morgan Baker finished Second in the 400 Freestyle at 5:15.83. In the Boys 400 Freestyle, Vince White finished Second at 4:47.72 and William Cronin finished Third at 4:48.34!
James David knocked out the 100 Meter Backstroke, finishing First at 1:07.52!
Senior Ray Fairbank blew through the 100 Meter Breaststroke, snagging First place at 1:11.34 and right behind him in Second place was Rence Coker at 1:12.55!
Lexington Girls and Lexington Boys both took First in the 400 Meter Freestyle relay, adding points and for the Boys – securing a win!
We will miss our graduating Seniors, most of them have been on the team for 6 years! Good luck to Ray Fairbank, Joe David, JJ Hardy, Kyle Kissner, Max Boscaglia, Leslie Martinez, Morgan Baker and Brieanna Parsons!
Our next meet is the Region Meet this Saturday at the Northwest YMCA – hoping for one more chance to secure a few more State Qualifiers. Go Wildcat Swim!
