Boys Varsity Swimming, Girls Varsity Swimming · Wildcats Swim To Tri-Meet Sweep!

The Wildcats Varsity Swim teams accounted for each win possible in the tri-meet at home Wednesday night, leaving the boys and girls with three-meet winning streaks so far in the season.

Varsity boys took out White Knoll and Irmo with some amazing swim times and surprising finishes.  In the Boy’s 200 Meter Freestyle, LHS took all the top spots and then some.  Senior JJ Hardy blew into First, with a finals time of 2:11.14, Rence Coker came in Second at 2:18.26, Nate Halloran took Third at 2:25.23 and just to finish it off, Noah Blashka came in Fourth at 2:25.44.

James David took First place in the Boy’s 200 Meter IM finishing at 2:31.42 and battling right behind him was William Cronin in Second place at 2:42.94.  The Boy’s had super-fast times in the 50 Meter Freestyle with four Wildcats in the top five spots out of twenty swimmers! Tucker Hewson was First at 26.78, Elijah Coker was Third at 27.10, Senior Kyle Kissner was Fourth at 27.72 and Senior Max Boscaglia was Fifth at 28.17.

The Boy’s 100 Meter Butterfly brought more points with Senior JJ Hardy bringing in First at 1:00.90 and James David finishing Second at 1:05.75.  The Wildcat Boys again swept up the top spots in the Boy’s 100 Meter Freestyle with the top four spots going to Tucker Hewson in First at 58.59, Morgan Durnford in Second at 1:00.77, Elijah Coker in Third at 1:01.01 and Vince White in Fourth with a time of 1;06.81!

Not to stop with the Freestyle throwdown, Vince White won First place in the Boy’s 400 Meter Freestyle run with a  time of 4:48.61 and right behind Vince was William Cronin in Second at 4:55.01, Nate Halloran in Third at 4:58.33 and John Coker in Fourth at 5:08.77!  In the Boy’s 200 Freestyle Relay, LHS took First place with Senior JJ Hardy, Tucker Hewson, James David and Morgan Durnford finishing at 1:49.61!  In the 400 Meter Freestyle Relay, LHS Took First, Second and Third – all three relay teams blowing it out!

Senior Kyle Kissner brought it home in the Boy’s 100 Meter Backstroke, finishing First with a time of 1:11.34!  The Boy’s kept going in the 100 Meter Breaststroke with Rence Coker coming in First at 1:14.68, Senior Ray Fairbank taking Second at 1:15.08 and Morgan Durnford bringing in Third at 1:17.27!

The Varsity girls were ready to swim as well bringing in top points and new personal bests throughout the meet while also taking down both Irmo and White Knoll.

The Girl’s 50 Meter Freestyle landed Wildcats in four out of the top five spots with Grace Kolb coming in First at 29.28, Maggie Head finishing Third at 30.46, Claire Gorsage taking Fourth at 32.17 and Senior Brieanna Parsons coming in Fifth at 33.30.

In the girl’s 200 Meter Freestyle, Senior Morgan Baker finished first with an impressive 2:32.57 and right behind her was Vivian Hall in Second at 2:35.24.  Grace Kolb and Maggie Head kept the Freestyle momentum going with Grace taking First in the Girl’s 100 Meter Freestyle at 1:05.23 and Maggie taking Second at 1:06.37.  Kate Perry Coker kicked it in in the Girl’s 400 Meter Freestyle, finishing First with a time of 5:35.94!  Senior Brieanna Parsons finished Third in that same race with a finals time of 5:50.13.  To keep the points coming, The Girl’s Relay teams took First and Second place in the Girl’s 200 Meter Freestyle Relay and they also placed Second, Third and Fourth in the Girl’s 400 Meter Freestyle Relay!

Kate Perry Coker blew past the competition in the Girl’s 200 Meter IM taking First place with a finish time of 2:50.23.

Halie Stoertz blew everyone away in the Girl’s 100 Meter Butterfly finishing fast in First at 1:13.25.

Kristina Tanfara swam a super tight Backstroke bringing in Second with an impressive 1:25.64.

The Wildcats Varsity swim had a great meet vs. Irmo and White Knoll, each team had great swimmers and great competition.

Our next meet is Wednesday September 11th at home vs. Dutch Fork High School.
