Girls Varsity Softball · State Championship Rings!

It was May 18, 2019 and the 5A State Softball Championship Series had advanced to a deciding Game 3 against the Lady Rebels of Byrnes.  Lexington held a slim 1-run lead as Byrnes stepped to the plate for their final at-bat.

The Lady Wildcats sent the Rebels down in 1-2-3 fashion, the final out made on a diving catch in short centerfield by Peri Rouillard.  The 6-5 win gave Lexington their 5th all time state title and their first in 18 years.  Allie Light was the winning pitcher, going the distance while striking out 7.  Hannah Kumiyama, Saige Stanley, and Jessica Senn all contributed homeruns.

In head coach Laurie Epps’ debut season as head coach, the Wildcats finished their season with a record of 26 wins and 4 losses.
