In the first meet of the season, the Wildcats edged out the Chapin Eagles with wins all around! Both teams beat the Eagles by two points with final scores of 86 to 84.
The Varsity Girls had some impressive wins with Maggie Head taking first in the Girls 200 Meter Freestyle at 2:29:39 and Senior Morgan Baker taking second with a final time of 2:30:71.
Kate Perry Coker finished the Girls 200 Meter IM with an impressive time of 2:49:37, landing Second.
Grace Kolb beat out 14 other swimmers to take first in the Girls 50 Meter Freestyle at a super-fast 29:96.
Halie Stoertz blew past the competition in the Girls 100 Meter Butterfly finishing at 1:15:50. Halie didn’t stop there, she finished First in the Girl’s 100 Meter Breaststroke at 1:25:31 and Lily Fairbank brought in Second with a finish time of 1:29:91!
Senior Morgan Head showed up ready again and took first in the Girls 400 Meter Freestyle finishing at 5:31:59.
Lexington Girls’ Relay team, Claire Gorsage, Morgan Baker, Maggie Head and Grace Kolb, also blasted by the Eagles, taking First in the Girls 200 Meter Freestyle Relay.
The Wildcat Varsity Boys also had an impressive night with Senior JJ Hardy knocking out the Boy’s 200 Meter Freestyle, finishing First at 2:08:97 and Nate Halloran taking Third at 2:24:31.
Tucker Hewson came in Second over 12 swimmers in the Boy’s 50 Meter Freestyle with a final time of 26.91 and Elijah Coker was right behind him in Third at 26.98.
James David flew into First in the Boy’s 100 Meter Butterfly with a finish of 1:02:28, beating out the nearest swimmer by 44 milliseconds!
Senior JJ Hardy stepped up again and blew out the Boy’s 100 Meter Freestyle, taking First with a finish time of 56.16! Vince White had an impressive finish in the Boy’s 400 Meter Freestyle, finishing Second at 4:46.50 and tying teammate Tucker Hewson! The Wildcats kept moving in the Boy’s 200 Meter Freestyle Relay and Tucker Hewson, James David, Morgan Durnford and JJ Hardy took First place, finishing at 1:14:19.
James David came in Second at 1:08:61 in the Boy’s 100 Meter Backstroke against some tough competition. Senior Ray Fairbank also had tough competition in the Boy’s 100 Meter Breaststroke and came out Second with a finish time of 1:13:00.
This was a great first meet of the season with the Wildcats coming out of the gate swinging! Our next meet is a Tri Meet vs. Irmo vs. White Knoll and is at home on September 4th at 6:00 p.m.
