Lexington’s 9 game winning streak was stopped in the opening round of the Carolina Invitational by a tough North Forsyth (GA) team. The Lady Raiders moved on in the winner’s bracket with a 55-28 win. The Wildcats will meet Lower Richland today (Friday).
The Carolina Invitational features an 80-team field with games being played at 9 venues in the Charleston area. Lexington’s bracket is being contested at Porter Gaud.

In the loss, Lexington was led in scoring by Olivia Thompson with 7 points, well off her 20+ average as she has been hampered with illness. Thompson surpassed 1600 career points and now has a total of 1605 as the most prolific scorer in Lady Wildcat history. Brooke Foulks scored 6. The Wildcats head to round 2 with a 10-2 season mark.
