Boys Varsity Baseball · Shutout: 3-Hit Pitching, Hot Bats Blow Out Vikings!

Supported by hot bats, Jonathan Howlett threw a shutout to lead Lexington past Spring Valley 10-0 Wednesday evening.

The Wildcats got things started in the first inning.  Noah Huthmaker singled on a 0-1 count, scoring Jared Kirven who had reach on a hit batsman.

Lexington added four runs in the second inning.  Jared Kirven, Tristan Allen, and Chase Crouch each had RBIs in the inning.

Howlett led Lexington to the victory on the pitcher’s mound. He threw five innings of shutout baseball, allowing just three hits, striking out ten, and walking one.

Kyle Rogers took the loss for Spring Valley. He lasted three innings, allowing ten hits and eight runs while striking out four.

With the win, Lexington is 1-0 in Region play and 3-1 overall.  They face Spring Valley again this Friday at home at 7:00 PM.
