On Saturday afternoon, Lexington dominated play most of the way and earned their 11th win of the season over the Saluda Tigers by a final of 73-54. Tyler Reed netted a career high 25 points to lead the Cats. Reed hit 7 two-pointers, 1 three-ball and was 8 of 8 from the free throw line. Mason Carver added 16 points.
Earlier, the Lady Wildcats built a big lead early, taking a 46-24 margin to the halftime break. The 2nd half was much different though as Saluda exploded for 36 points while holding Lexington to 13. The Lady Tiger attack was fueled by 42 points from senior guard Star Ergle. Saluda prevailed with a 60-59 final score.
Wildcat teams will return to Region play on Tuesday evening at home when they host Blythewood. Girls tipoff is scheduled for 6:00 with the boys to follow at 7:30.
