After a close first quarter, Lexington exploded for 24 points in the second while holding their opponents to just 7 as they cruised past the Columbia Capitols, 74-48. The Cat scoring was led by Bradley Foulks with 16. Jack Vandergeest added 14 points while Mason Carver and Jonathan Corley each contributed 10.
With the win, Lexington is off to a 4-1 start. They face a tough Aiken Hornet team on the road this Friday. The win was also the 598th of Head Coach Bailey Harris’ career as he begins his 31st season.
Previously, after defeating CA Johnson, Airport, and Chapin in the Lake Murray Tipoff, the Cats ran into a scoring drought in the second half of the title game. They hit only 4 of 27 from the field as they fell to River Bluff by a 54-40 final.
