Monday and Tuesday the Wildcats played in the 4th Annual Battle of the Dam which was held at Golden Hills Country Club and Timberlake Country Club co-hosted by River Bluff and Chapin. The strongest teams from the area and around the state teed it up creating a field of 21 teams/105 players. After day 1 there were several teams with a shot at it. Lexington held an 11-shot lead after the front 9 on day 2, but Timberlake’s back 9 proved difficult and the Wildcats opened the door for both North Myrtle Beach and Myrtle Beach. The Cats managed to hold on to narrowly win by 4 strokes with a 2-day toal of 626.
Lexington’s Dillon Hite had an eagle on hole 18 to get himself to Even par for day 2 and -1 under for the tournament and win the low medalist award. Alec Vardas, Gracyn Burgess and Connor Patterson all finished in the top 20 for the tournament. Below are the Wildcat scores.
