Multiple Teams · On Their Way! Cats #1 At State Qualifier

Thirty teams from the 5A classification gathered Saturday at River Bluff High School to compete for 16 tickets to the State Championship meet to be held next Saturday at the Colonial Life Arena.

Not only did the Lady Wildcats successfully qualify, they beat the entire field with an all-time state record 361 points.  They scored 360, the previous record, to win the State Championship last Fall.

Head Coach Shannon Canady commented on the big afternoon for Wildcat Cheer.  “Our main goal this week was to hit our difficult routine solidly.  We adjusted the way we practiced and were able to achieve that goal.  We are getting better each week and that’s what we expect this time of year.”

In addition to Lexington, Region 5 qualifiers included Dutch Fork, River Bluff, Blythewood, and Irmo.  White Knoll and Spring Valley came up short.
