The Lady Wildcat Golf Team traveled to Westcott Plantation in North Charleston Sunday and Monday to play in the Fort Dorchester Lady Patriot Invitational against a field of 15 teams.  The Wildcats had impressive play on Sunday and had a 1-stroke lead heading into day 2 over the talented St James. By the end of round 2 the Wildcats pulled away despite St James Smith Knaffle carding a round of 64, and posted a cumulative score of 289, 1 over par on the day! That is 1 over par for 4 Lady Cats combined! Of 158 scores posted, only 5 scores fell under par with 3 of those being Lady Cats scores.

The Cats carded 30 birdies altogether with Gracyn Burgess accounting for more than a third of those birds. Burgess also earned a 3rd place finish and spot on the all tournament team with her 70/72(142) score. Karlee Vardas placed 6th overall with 77/71(148) and had her lowest high school score to date of 1 under par. Molly Hardwick also carded a 1 under par, which is her career best and landed tied for 8th place with 80/71(151). Isabella Rawl placed 10th with 73/79(152) and had 8 birdies in 2 days while Kennedy Gooding tied for 16th with 82/75(157). All 6 Wildcats landed in top 25 of 79 players with Hannah Stephenson tied at 25th with 84/81(165).

Lexington edged out St James by 6 strokes with a 2-day score of 589 while Blythewood came in 3rd and River Bluff came in 6th. The Lady Cats travel to Beaufort over the weekend to compete in the WSCGA Invitational. Good luck Lady Wildcats!
