A big strength of the 2016 Lexington Wildcat football team was the work done by the offensive line.  Another was the reliable kicking game.  On Wednesday’s National Signing Day, 4 offensive linemen and a kicker signed National Letters Of Intent to play college football.

  • Left Guard Andrew Storey signed with Limestone College, a member of the Division II Eastern College Athletic Conference in Gaffney, SC.  Storey was Wildcat’s Offensive MVP and earned All Region honors.
  • Right Guard Hunter Blackmon also signed with Limestone.  He was the Wildcat Team MVP, and was an All Region player.
  • Center Jackson Ward will join his teammates at Limestone.  Ward was the winner of the 2016 Coaches Award.
  • Right Tackle Cameron Williams is a Newberry College signee.  He won the Wildcat Weight Room Award.  In addition he was named All Region and was selected to the North/South All Star Roster.
  • Kicker/Punter Gunnar Kennedy signed with Georgia State University of the Division I Sun Belt Conference.  His senior year at Lexington was highlighted by a 51 yard field goal and 41 kickoff touchbacks.  He was named Specialist of the Year and won All Region and North/South All Star honors.

Congratulation to this signing class and good luck to them in their academic and athletic pursuits!
