Lexington won their Region 5 season opener against Spring Valley on Tuesday night.  Scores were 25-7, 25-13, 25-20.  The player of the game was Phoebe Perkins with 5 Aces and 9 Kills.  The Cats are now 11-1 on the season and 1-0 in Region.

On Monday, the Wildcats traveled to Anderson to play a tri-match with TL Hanna and Spartanburg Christian.  Both matches went to 3 sets and all 6 sets were battles to the end.  Lexington played TL Hanna first and came out very strong to take the first set 25-23. The second set went to Hanna by a score of 25-21 which the Jackets led the whole time with hard serving and strong blocking.  The 3rd set was back and forth with many lead changes.  In the end Hanna edged out the Wildcats again by a score of 25-21.

In the second match against Spartanburg Christian, the Lady Wildcats again took the first set  25-21.  Trying to fight off the fatigue of playing 4 hard sets in a row the Wildcats lost focus at the end of the set and let the 2nd set slip, losing 25-20.  Feeling the pressure of not wanting to lose the second match of the night, the Wildcats rallied and fought hard to win the third set 25-22.
Next up is a Region match at Irmo on Thursday evening at 7:00 PM.
