The Lexington boys are set for a showdown on Tuesday that will send the winner to the top of the Region 5 standings.  Last night, they posted a shutout of the Irmo Yellowjackets to improve to 11-3 overall and 6-2 in Region matches.  Earlier in the week, River Bluff lost their first of the season to Dutch Fork.

The Wildcats and Gators will meet on Tuesday with the winner taking control of 1st place.

Against Irmo, senior Sam Plumer got the hat trick, scoring all 3 of the Lexington goals.  Plumer now leads the team with 10 scores so far this season.

In the 13th minute of the match, Plumer’s long direct kick made it into the net.  Then, with 11 minutes to play in the first half, he struck again to put the Wildcats up by a 2-0 margin.

Just 1 minute into the second half, Kolin Fringer’s shot was blocked and Plumer scored on the rebound to make the final score 3-0.

Next week, after meeting River Bluff on Tuesday, Lexington will travel to Dutch Fork on Friday, April 7 for a 7:30 PM match.
