The Boys and Girls Varsity Swimmers competed Saturday at the Yellow Jacket Invitational in Augusta along with 17 other teams.  The Lady Wildcats performed well, scoring 132 points to earn a 7th place finish, and the boys made an early season statement, finishing 2nd to Fort Mill with 256 points, 3 points ahead of River Bluff.

Senior captain Maggie Halloran led the girls with a 1st and 2nd place finish in her 500 and 200 yard freestyle events.  Freshman Riley Hardy contributed with top 10 finishes in her 50 and 100 yard freestyles.  Jenna Couture, Shannon Shealy, and Emma Jeter also scored for Lexington.

For the boys, Freshman J.J. Hardy led the team with impressive wins in the 100 freestyle and 100 butterfly.  Other top scorers were Austin Rich, Preston Mazzei, Logan Thomas, and Ray Fairbank.  The boy’s 200 and 400 freestyle relays rocked the pool with blistering wins in both events.

The Wet Wildcats will face Irmo in a dual meet next Thursday, September 8th at the Country Club of Lexington at 6:00 PM.
