Gallagher And Whitlock Lead 17-7 Rout Of Irmo

The outcome was never in doubt Saturday afternoon at Irmo.  Lexington Lacrosse took a 4-1 first quarter lead and widened it to 7-2 at halftime.  The Wildcats added 10 more goals in the second half to get the win 17-7 in the season’s first Region match.

Senior Goaltender Robert Gallagher faced a volley of 25 shots on goal and turned away 20.  Another Senior, TA Whitlock led the offensive effort with 5 goals, 5 assists, and 11 shots on goal.

Freshman Brian Guerra made 9 shots on the Irmo goal, getting 4 past the Tender and was credited with 1 assist.

2 goals for Lexington were scored by Cole Mason, Tyler Wack, and Kyle Zuba.  1 goal each was added by Zach Dadabo and Kyle Poe.

Jake Vining was nearly perfect in face-offs, winning 11 of 13.

With the win, Lexington is 4-3 overall for the season and is 1-0 in Region play.  The Cats will host 2 matches this week, Tuesday against Dorman and Thursday against Academic Magnet, both beginning at 7:00 PM.
